A Picture-Perfect Mountain Wedding - Canmore, Alberta
Natasha and Johnny’s Canmore wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. The hot summer sun paired perfectly with the majestic mountain backdrop. I was fortunate to have coordinated their big day, filled with lots of laughs and happy tears. The childhood sweethearts held their ceremony outside in the courtyard at The Grande Rockies Resort on July 1, 2017 which was followed by a big celebration with their closest family and friends in the ballroom of the Resort.
The couple chose a neutral colour palette with simple vintage-rustic accents like the wine barrels that adorned the aisle and the vintage french door ceremony backdrop from Cellar Door Vintage Rentals. The palette continued throughout the reception space with stunning DIY lantern centrepieces on each table adorned by pale pink and ivory florals.
Celebrating their Polish heritage, the groom's family formed "passing gates" for the bride on the way to the ceremony. Traditionally, in order to pass through the gates, the bride must hand out vodka. And so she did. Natasha warded off her "gate keepers" and the show went on!
Favourite moment: The groom's speech. Johnny spoke about the first time he saw Natasha. He was a teenager and watched as she pulled up in a moving truck with her parents. She was his new neighbour. Let's just say it was like a scene from a movie...
