7 Little Tricks To Make Your Wedding THE BEST DAY EVER
Take note, brides and grooms-to-be! And promise us you'll do #allthethings
1. Give your wedding day timeline to your wedding party ASAP.
If you want your brigade to be on top of their game on your wedding day, creating a timeline is key. Otherwise, you may have to hunt down your groomsmen for photos or you mother when it's time to cut the cake!
Don’t: Wait until the day-of to give it to your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Do: Be very clear about what they can expect, where they should be and when.
2. Hire a great photographer.
There are good photographers and then there are great photographers. Trust me - this is one of the most important people you'll have to hire. Splurge, if you have to.
Don’t: Skimp on this one. When it’s all said and done, you’ll want to make sure every sweet moment was captured perfectly.
Do: Allot more to photography in your budget than what you think you should. A great photographer is one of the best investments you can make for your wedding day.
3. Break in your new shoes.
Most of us put just as much thought into wedding shoes as the dress or suit. I also recommend bringing something super comfy for hitting the dance floor.
Don’t: Just purchase gel soles and hope for the best.
Do: Get your money’s worth - wear those bad boys to your bachelor/bachelorette too! I totally did! In fact, my shoes live on here.
4. Plan for more time than you think you’ll need to get ready.
Ladies: Your hairstylist may tell you she needs about an hour for you and for your bridesmaids, but seriously - plan for an extra 30 minutes on top of that.
Gents: Even if you stay on schedule, you can use the extra alloted time to just relax!
Don’t: Be late for your appointments!
Do: Have a trial for both your hair and your makeup. I had four different updos done on the day-of - but maybe I'm just too darn picky!
5. Wake up refreshed.
You don't wanna have a bad case of the red eye on your wedding day. And you certainly don't want to be tired and sluggish, right?
Don’t: Get too loose the night before your wedding. Alcohol can have drastic effects on your appearance and on your mood.
Do: Spend the night relaxing with your closest friends. Be sure to apply a rejuvenating eye mask and hit the sheets early.
6. Take it all in at your ceremony.
This is it! The time has come and it'll feel like a dream when you prepare for your grand entrance.
Don’t: Let yourself get too nervous or anxious. This is your day! Don't rush it.
Do: Walk even slower than you think you should!
7. Take some selfies.
Sure, you'll have lots of professional photos in the end, but you'll probably look so much more relaxed and happy when it's just the two of you alone.
Don’t: Spend the day running around with your phone in your hand.
Do: Take some time to run off to a quiet place with your new wife or hubby and snap a few in your happiest moments.
